Smoky Mountain Sporthorses is located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, close to Asheville, and within a few hours of Greenville SC, Knoxville TN and Charlotte NC.

Tammy's Story

Years ago I attended an Equine Expo in California while visiting family.  It was there I saw my first Friesian. I went to the Friesian booth and asked many questions about the breed, which they were more than happy to answer. (We Friesian owners love to talk about our horses!).

That night I had a chance to see that same beautiful black stallion perform to music, his long mane literally down to his knees, long tail and flowing feathers - I was hooked. I knew I had to have my own fairytale Friesian.

After returning home I began my search and 2 years later imported a 10 month old colt. Zander is everything a Friesian should be, beautiful movement and conformation, lots of hair and a sweet nature.

Zander is available for cross breeding, make your own dream come true of a fairytale Friesian cross by breeding your mare to Zander.

Smoky Mountain Sporthorses will also be selling Friesian Sporthorse foals.

Our first broodmare is a beautiful black shire. We will be breeding Abbey to Zander the spring of 2008 so check back for more information on Abbey and her upcoming foal.
